Sandy’s Donuts is The Best place to get donuts in Grand Rapids. It is so hard to pick which donuts to buy because they are all so good! My favorite is maple cinnamon swirl. My husband’s all time favorite is the custard long john! The employees are super friendly and put your order together quickly. I highly recommend Sandy’s Donuts!

While in Howell, MI, we went to a cute deli called The Crunchy Pickle. The three workers there were very friendly. We tried a couple of their sandwiches. They were delicious. The fresh bread is what made the sandwiches so good! My husband tried their chicken with sweet potato and kale soup. It came out steaming. He said it was very good. They can also make any sandwich on a pickle. Maybe next time I’ll try that. We highly recommend having lunch at The Crunchy Pickle!

We were so excited when our neighborhood Jet’s Pizza reopened after a fire. I love their four crust pepperoni pizza. I always get my pizzas cooked well. When I picked up the pizza, it was cooked perfectly! The manager was super friendly. We chatted a second about how nice the new restaurant was. I highly recommend this Jet’s Pizza.

We finally had the opportunity to eat at the Bayview Inn near Traverse City, MI. The parking lot is always full which means they must have good food. They sure do! We ordered the Chicken & Broccoli Fettuccini Alfredo. It was the best pasta I have ever had. Our waitress, Duanne, was very nice and attentive. Our food came out quickly and was hot. We highly recommend having lunch or dinner at the Bayview Inn.

If you are looking for a great sandwich shop, The Toasted Pickle is it! There are three locations in Michigan for your convenience. They are in Grand Rapids, Rockford, and Grand Haven. I have always order the same sandwich every time, the Sixie From Dixie, until today. My husband and I decided to split a sandwich so I let him choose. We got The Nashville Hottie. It’s crispy chicken, sweet & spicy pickles, house made coleslaw topped with their Nashville Hot Honey and Serrano crema on a brioche bun. It tastes even better than it sounds! I also highly recommend their Hottie Waffle Fries, Beer Battered Fries, and the Hot Honey Brussels. We had the sweetest young lady by the name of Jada, take our order today. All of the employees are really great!

When we are at our cottage on Torch Lake, we start our mornings at Alden Muffin Tin. Butch, the owner, always greets us with a smile and a “Good Morning”. Each morning he has a variety of 13-15 different kinds of muffins. Some of our favorites are the chocolate chip, carrot cake, chocolate raspberry cheesecake, and birthday cake. I love the sausage, spinach, scallion and goat cheese quiche. We also enjoy the coffee, Caramel Macchiato and iced lattes! So, when you are in Northern Michigan make sure to stop at the Alden Muffin Tin for a great breakfast!

Driving down the road in Charlevoix, MI, we saw a long line of people waiting to eat at The Villager Pub. We knew we had to try it. We were seated outside on a beautiful evening. Our waitress, Rachel, was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. We ordered the Cod Dinner with sweet potatoes and coleslaw. It was delicious! The Cod was perfectly seasoned. My husband tried the Fish Chowder and said it was good, but not the best he ever had. Many customers around us were having the burritos and nachos. We will have to try those next time.

When we went into Town Club in Elk Rapids, we were expecting bar food because it was a quaint bar. The menu did have burgers, sandwiches, and wings, but they also had a variety of “Greek” items. We had the Fried Pita Wedges for an appetizer. It was fried pita sprinkled with parmesan cheese served with creamy feta dip and original Greek salsa. They were amazing! We also got the small Greek Salad topped with Gyro Meat. It was very fresh and flavorful! We tried the half Crispy Chicken Salad which was also great. The restaurant was clean and our waitress, Jennifer, was super nice! We will be back for the delicious food and friendly service.

We celebrated my birthday at McGee’s 72. What a great restaurant and bar! It has an amazing view of Spruce Run Golf Course. We sat on the bar side and had the friendliest waitresses named Rebecca. When you sit on the bar side, you can order from the main menu or from the Happy Hour menu. We tried items from both menus like the Harrington’s Custom Ground Steak Burger. It was very juicy and the bun was soft and fresh! We also enjoyed the lettuce wraps and Sorellina’s Bruschetta, both were absolutely delicious! We would order those again! I loved my Grilled Tenderloin Salad! The steak was tender and well seasoned and the romaine and tomatoes were very fresh. I was not sure I would like the Gorgonzola-Chive Vinaigrette dressing, but it made the salad! Surprisingly, the best item we ordered was the onion rings! They were crispy and had lots of seasonings! We highly recommend McGee’s 72 and their onion rings!
