I love to cook but only do so occasionally for myself. It's more fun to explore the many restaurants in this college town! I love to enjoy a restaurant meal with friends, but as a single woman, I usually do delivery, drive-through or pick-up. Many years in Sales and as an entrepreneur have taught me how valuable word of mouth can be to a business. That's why Local City Places was so attractive to me! Yelp is a household word, but watch out; Local City Places is taking over!

Drew’s Car Wash is very convenient-I usually go on Tuesdays when they offer $5 off any car wash, which is what I did this visit. The staff is friendly, they offer to fold in your side mirrors, and get you through the line quickly. They also offer self serve towels and vacuum!
My church is making meal bags for our food pantry. I went yo Costco specifically for canned chicken, as they have the best price on this item. While there, I also found shelf stable milk in 8 oz bottles so I bought a couple cases of those as well. I love Costco for their great selection of quality foods!
KFC has been around for a long time and it’s good chicken. I ordered the 3 tender combo with cole slaw and a biscuit. Also ordered a chocolate cake that serves 4 people. The food was hot and tasty but the cake seemed old. The icing drizzle had melted into the cake.
Target is our go-to place for toys and gifts for kids. My granddaughter and I were on the hunt for some small inexpensive items for her, her brother and friends who were coming in town. We settled on little stuffed puppies for the girls and squishy gaming console toys for the boys. The kids loved them!
Hobby Lobby has beautiful seasonal decor as well as sewing, crafts, party supplies, framing, hobby supplies, floral and furniture. My granddaughter has learned how to finger knit so she wanted new yarn. They had a great selection of colors and she found what she needed. Great place to find gifts and decor!
I love Aldi’s great deals on groceries and seasonal items! My Bible study group is making Blessing Bags for local food insecure families. I was able to find great bargains on items for these meals bags as well as things for my own pantry at Aldi. I was so tempted to purchase some Christmas decor items, but I refrained. Go buy yours today!
This is a hamburger restaurant attached to a local gas station. They have the best sweet potato fries; so today I ordered some with a Mooyah Cheeseburger as a take-out. The burger is huge, well seasoned and tasty. The fries didn’t disappoint and the serving size was so big that I saved over half for tomorrow’s lunch.
Excellent food and fun, casual atmosphere! A group of ladies from church does lunch each month at different restaurants. I’ll come back after hours to enjoy one of their specialty Meads. Today I had the Reuben sandwich with fries. The fries are crisp on the outside and tender in the inside; yum! They also have different events each night, like trivia, etc.
I ordered curbside pick up today. They are very fast! I love Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and this one was literally STUFFED with so much goodness! You can see by my photo that I started eating before I remembered to snap a pic! So flavorful and the fries were great; crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside! Cheddar’s is so reasonably priced and they gave me a free hot honey buttered croissant. How can you go wrong!?!
I love Chuy’s! There in several cities and it’s pretty much a Tex Mex standard. Tge decor is fun - hub caps hanging from the ceiling, the chips station is a the front end of an old car, it’s always crowded too! I ordered the Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas to go and it was delicious as always!
