Searched around for the best deal on gas today and the BP station on Plainfield near the I-96 EB ramp had the best price. We were out on Plainfield for a late lunch and stopped there on our way home. Very convenient location with easy in and out access. They also have a “C” store inside, a car wash and 2 charging stations for Electric vehicles. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience at this location.

My wife and were craving pizza on Friday so we decided to order a 14" inch Veggie pizza. Vitales pizza and Sports Lounge is both a sit down Italian restaurant and a pizzeria with take-out. We decided on Mushroom, Green Olives, Black Olives, Green Pepper and Onion. We also ordered Ranch dressing on the side. This pizza was done perfectly. The crust was done to perfection as we requested it, cooked to "Well Done” by keeping it in the oven a few extra minutes. It was hot and ready to go when we arrived and had generous toppings and cheese as well. They also have a full menu here for dining in or take out including hot subs, chicken alfredo pizza, fettuccine, burritos, chips & cheese and egg plant Parmesan to name a few. We love the great menu and good service at Vitales!

Some friends and I traveled to Detroit for a Detroit Red Wings Hockey game on this past Sunday. We spent the night in Royal Oak, Mi at the Hyatt Place on North Main Street. I have to say this was one the nicest, cleanest hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The room was a suite and had a beautiful L shape pull out couch. The 2 Queen beds had very elegant bedspreads with 3 pillows per bed. A double set of blinds on the window made for great privacy. The shower and bathroom were spotless, with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in pump bottles in the shower. In the morning we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast which was deluxe! Breakfast offerings were as follows: coffee, tea, Hot Cocoa mix, orange juice, milk. Hot food included scrambled eggs, sausage links, French toast sticks, oatmeal and grits. They had bagels, toast, donut holes and muffins. 3 choices of cold cereal along with fresh cut fruit and yogurt with granola to sprinkle on. Like I said it was a fantastic breakfast. We also were able to get an extended checkout until 3:00pm. I will definitely be back to this Hyatt Place anytime I am in the area!!

Took a trip for a Detroit Red wings Hockey game on Sunday. We spent the night in Royal Oak, Mi after the game. Before the drive home I topped off my gas tank at the Marathon of Royal Oak. It was a fairly new station with great signage and digital pumps. The C-store inside is well laid out and stocked with excellent products. Unique to this location is the offerings and sale of locally sourced Craft Beers, Wine and Spirits. They also have a good assortment of groceries and ready to eat food. Give them a try when you are in the area.

Getting our vehicles ready for winter in Michigan so I made a trip to AutoZone for new wipers for my wives car and 2 gallons of Dex-Cool anti Freeze for my pickup truck. AutoZones employees are always so helpful and informed. Chip was helping me and looked up the wiper blades giving me several choices and I chose the Bosch brand. He also recommended 50/50 Dex-Cool antifreeze by Prestone. I am a First Responder, so Chip also applied a 10% discount. I LOVE AutoZone and I will be back.

We needed Christmas glitter for a project we were working on. We looked at three stores and had not found what we were looking for. An extremely friendly worker at Michaels looked up if they had the glitter and showed us where it was located. It was exactly what we were looking for. We recommend Michaels.

Driving past Sandy’s Donuts around noon, I decided to go in and see if they still happen to have my favorite donuts. I was pleasantly surprised that they did! I had to get a dozen donuts to share with family members. I got maple cinnamon swirl, custard Long John’s, glazed cinnamon, and of course the last sprinkle one. The man who waited on me had a big smile and was very helpful.

This was my first time grocery shopping at Family Fare on Lake Michigan Drive. The store was very clean, well lit, and well stocked. Everything I needed to make cheesy potatoes was on sale since we are getting close to Thanksgiving. This location had a cute popcorn stand in it and boy did it smell good. My cashier was very friendly and made sure I found everything I needed.

We love the convenience of our neighborhood D&W Fresh Market. It’s right by our grandkids school so we run in quickly to grab what we need to make them dinner. We were in and out of the store in ten minutes! On this trip, we needed pasta and garlic bread. The grandkids also put mozzarella sticks in the cart. The store is always well stocked and very clean.

We continue to go to Kohl’s for the in person experience of seeing, touching and trying on the clothing. They have started their “Black Friday” sales and the pillow we went there for was on sale! Kohl’s is an Amazon Return center also. They make it so easy to complete these returns and transactions. They have an excellent selection of affordable clothing for every member of the family. Items include outerwear, intimates, socks, shoes and intimates for men and women. You can also find good deals and selection on household and kitchen items along with electric counter top appliances.
