I love Mexican food, and the El Comalon Mexican restaurant does not disappoint. Their cadillac margarita hits the spot every time. The chips and salsa, the salsa has the best flavor. I only ever order their cheese enchiladas, sometime ala cart and sometimes with rice and beans. When I order the latter, I always have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. My husband is more adventurous and has tried quite a few of their chicken, beef and shrimp dishes, and he never complains!

I was recently in my home town and taking my father to appointments. Burger King was a good choice for quick service and good lunch options. I had the single burger (I always select it for the charboiled flavor) and dad had the chicken sandwich. The drink fountain is fun with the different flavor options. My diet coke with lime was tasty and hit the spot on a warm day.

Teriyaki Spice is new to this location in Spokane and is conveniently located off the freeway and easy to find. Two of us tried the Woodland Special, which was good, and the Katsu Chicken which also had good flavor. The atmosphere is that of a diner, and casual. The staff were very friendly. There is also a second location in nearby Airway Heights that we will try next.

Jack in the Box has the best milkshakes ever. I prefer just the whipped cream and no cherry. They are so thick. They also have very good cold flavored brew at a reasonable price. I always order the large vanilla. Typically I get a senior discount but forgot to ask for it. Maybe that means I didn't look as old today! Needless to say their burgers and chicken sandwiches are good, too.

When your girlfriends count on you to find a Happy Hour location to get together, I do my best to find something fun and different. The Red Wheel is conveniently located right off the freeway, and was so easy to get to for the three of us coming from different directions in town. It was new to all of us, and a win. Plenty of free parking is always a plus. The Happy Hour, 3 to 5, has a "wheel" to select from. I had Shots, one friend had the lemon vodka special, and we share the Nachos, which were all Happy Hour p. They have lots of outdoor seating for good weather. We will definitely come back again, especially in the spring, and enjoy the outside.

The Outlaw is one of my favorites in Spokane. They also have a great location in Spokane Valley with the biggest outdoor seating ever. I took a friend tonight and we enjoyed their 1/2 off Happy Hour; the Blackberry Lemonade with Tequila was delicious, with a delayed punch! I never go here without ordering the Cilantro Corn Jalapeno Pasta Salad. The corn bread muffins were so good, and the cheese in the middle, yum. The delicious buttery spread they give is like no other. They are a BBQ place, and I always get the brisket. But, check out their pastry case -- OMG you'd think you are were at a bakery. We will continue to frequent this place. You cannot go wrong.

We have been to La Presa before as we were looking for a new Mexican Restaurant in Airway Heights. Tonight they were a bit busy (a very good thing) and we had a new waitress. She was a bit slow and we had to remind her to get us a few things we asked for: straw for water, more napkins after she spilled some of my drink, more salsa. My two al al acarte enchiladas and Cadillac margarita were delicious as always. My husband's Carne Asada burrito, the meat was a bit dry. We will come back and hope for 5 star service next time, as we've had in the past.

As they say, do not judge a book by its cover. AK Asian has delicious food. My go-to is always the Mandarin Beef, and my husband usually tries the daily special. A friend of mine and I stopped by and shared the Mandarin Beef dinner (she loved it) and I still had enough for lunch the next day. In the bar they had Karaoke, but we didn't participate; just listened from the dining area. I love they have a meal punch card and go there often for lunch as it is only a half block from my business.

With new ownership, menu and name, we decided it was time to check out The Fort on our way to the lake. It was Friday all you can eat Fish and Chips. The fish and chips were plentiful and very good. The accompanying clam chowder was tasty, as well. With the large amount we got we had no room for a free refill of fish and chips. The place was busy and service was a little slow but totally worth the wait. On our way out there was live music at the outdoor patio. The Fort is more than just a restaurant; it is a small convenience store of sorts, as well, for those last minute items needed for a lake visit. Their soft serve ice cream is a nice addition on a warm day.

Stockwell's Chill n Grill is quite the interesting place. It is on the main strip in the little community of Millwood, WA, and has easy parking. I was there for a meeting and only got an appetizer, but it was delicious. The stuffed jalapenos were different in that they did not have the typical breaded covering, and proved to be very tasty with a hint of bacon pieces in the cream cheese. I gave 3 stars because I had to walk upstairs to the bar area to get service to place an order and was not advised of a credit card surcharge in advance.
