Food Connects Us All I’ve always believed that food is more than nourishment—it’s how we come together, share stories, and discover the world. Whether it’s a simple meal among friends or a feast halfway across the globe, food has a way of lowering boundaries and creating connection. Each dish tells a story, each shared table becomes an adventure, and every flavor invites us to understand one another a little more. Through food, I continue to explore the many ways our lives are intertwined.

Sports Bar
San Francisco

We went here before a theatre production across the street. The bar is attached to a restaurant -BOTA- where we had dined before and it was excellent Paella. At the bar we ordered three drinks which were good, however the service was slow and not particularly friendly. We will give it another try because of it's atmosphere and location.

San Rafael

This place is a surprise on the main street of San Rafael. We ordered scones and ice cream. The scones were baked fresh this morning and the creamy ice cream even comes in pumpkin flavor for the fall and halloween season. The cafe is operated in part by the students of Autistry which is a unique place for autistic adults to learn life skills. Definitely left with a good taste and good feelings!

Cafe
Sausalito

What a fun and surprising find just off the main street, a block from the bay, in Sausalito. This is a small neighborhood market with a full deli section. We ordered the bacon club sandwich which was one of the best club sandwiches, for sure. We are looking forward to going back another time soon.

Today we ordered the Egg Deluxe Bagel which was delicious. The bagels are freshly baked on site and while there are many locations for House of Bagels, each one is individually owned. The two young brothers who own this one are usually there making sure the standards stay high. Located across from the SMART train station it is super convenient and usually buzzing with activity, which is always a good sign.

San Rafael

This is an old standard with locations in San Francisco, Berkeley and beyond. This location is across the street from the SMART Train station, so perfect going out of or coming into San Rafael. There is a big selection of freshly made pizzas, calzones, Subs and other eats. Today it was a Chicken Pesto Sandwich "to go"...... delicious and enough for two meals for sure. A consistently good place.

We stopped in here after a long walk in the neighboring redwood trees, without a reservation and were seated almost immediately. This is located in a small neighborhood shopping center and has the feeling of a casual family restaurant One person in our party took his dog in with us. We ordered two pasta dishes, Spaghettini and Fettucine Alfredo with smoked chicken. Also served at the table was a grilled salmon and chicken piccata. All of the food was full of flavor and served quickly by an attentive and friendly staff. The deserts were good too: Tiramisu and a fresh apple blueberry crisp. We all agreed that the =value was excellent and we'd go back.

Our first visit to Burmatown is one to remember. The menu offers a wide range of Asian foods and there was a special menu for the day. We ordered Miso Black Cod, Pan Seared Scallops, Spicy Chicken Stir Fry, Pork Cheung Fun, BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles and a plate of Vegetarian Cury Samosas to start the feast. The scallops melted in my mouth and the BBQ Noodles were the best noodle dish I've ever eaten. Towards the end of the meal the owner cam to our table and brought us a piece of the Chef's birthday cake. Looking forward to the next tiime!!!

This is a perfect place for Saturday or Sunday morning when running errands or shopping. We ordered the breakfast bagel with egg and cheese along with a pizza bagel. Both were made to order with freshly backed sour dough bagels, so they were hot and delicious. There is sometimes a line but it is worth it. The staff is friendly and efficient. We go there at least once a month and have had a good experience each time.

This is a recent discovery and we've been there 3 times in the past two months. We ordered the Steak Frites and the Trout Meuniere along with a special warm wild mushroom salad. Each of these items was delicious and our plates were clean at the end of the meal. Also the service is exceptional with the French owner joining the staff in bringing food and drinks to the table. We met a local friend there who had never been and she was delighted with the sidewalk cafe atomosphere. This is on our repeat list for sure! There is also a location in San Francisco and NYC.

Cafe
San Francisco

This is one of my favorite coffee places in San Francisco. Today I ordered a cappuccino and a delicious "babka" ..... a cross between a croissant and scone. It was delicious. The place is uplifting with people, art work and the best service. The company roasts its own beans and has a retail line of coffees. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, and it's worth the effort !!!
