Semi-retired CPA originally from Chicago and now in Las Vegas, NV. Enjoy home cooking, restaurant take out and dine-in experiences with foods of many varieties. My wife and I usually eat from moderately priced restaurants and try to remember to ask for senior discounts. Must be careful because in Las Vegas there are buffets, both within and outside of the hotels with no food intake limit, so those meals require self-imposed constraint. Extra fun when accompanied with family and friends.

Take out breakfast for myself and my wife. Bacon - Egg - Cheese Bagel, Sausage - Egg - Cheese McMuffin, and a Sausage -Egg Burrito. They all tasted great and the price was under $12, including tax. No senior discounts on this purchase but rewards points were earned. Using the Kiosk was a bit challenging, but we got through it; ordered, received the reward points and paid. The wait was only a few minutes. The McDonalds location was having a promotion signified by the balloons at the entrance and inside, to have customers download the app and provide their email, and doing so allowed them to spin the prize wheel for a free food item. On this school day, for morning breakfast, there were no children present and the indoor play area was empty. The employees were pleasant and busy. Good experience, price was nice, taste was terrific and the restaurant appearance was orderly and clean.

I drove my SUV to get an oil change with an oil filter change because of the coupon I received. The service was excellent and the personnel were pleasant, professional and pointed out additional service needs that my vehicle requires, both from a physical inspection and the mileage racked up over the years. They showed me and explained the physical problems they observed, and some should be covered by my extended warranty, and the others are considered maintenance for which I will be responsible. They provided a comprehensive diagnostic of their recommended repairs with the prices for these future services. They will contact my extended service provider to verify the coverage, and I plan to return in a few days for the additional service needs.

This is our favorite Chinese take-out restaurant in Las Vegas located in the Summerlin community. We have been ordering take-out for many years because the taste, quantity and quality is always excellent. There are tables for eat-in customers, but we usually take the purchase home. Normally there is a short wait to pick up the called in advance order, but today was an exception - this pick up had a longer than usual wait and I was told they were very busy, and on the way out, the pick-up order line consisted of 4 people. Our take-out order is normally shared at the dinner table and even with that, the food lasts for more than one meal. The dinner combo includes soup (egg drop is our #1 choice), an egg roll, rice (white, brown or fried) and a crab rangoon stuffed with cream cheese, and of course the fortune cookie with each meal has a surprise because of the "wise" words within the cookie. Our order had three items: NY Chinese Chow Mein, Chicken Egg Foo Young with brown gravy, and Sweet and Sour Chicken with a pint of bright red Sweet and Sour sauce with chunks of pineapple pieces, and a side of French fries for the grandkids. We had leftovers on everything except the egg roll and crab rangoon that came with the two combo meals. It would be great if frequent customers or seniors could be offered a discount, but getting paid for a review is an offset and helps with the budget. Here is my all-time favorite fortune cookie saying: "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement." Overall, a great restaurant and price for our purchase lasting for more than one meal.

In the peaceful Western Las Vegas, NV area identified as Summerlin, is where our local IHOP is located and decorated for Halloween. Consider this visit a Halloween Treat. My wife and I ordered filling and great tasting breakfasts. I had a muffin with 2 fried eggs, bacon and cheese, and a side of fresh fruit. My wife had scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns, with a side of strawberries on crepes. The photos I took show how delicious the entrees looked. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant. I used the IHOP printed discount coupon that stated buy two non-senior meals with two beverages, and receive the lessor priced meal free (max discount $15), and for this visit, our $9.29 free selection was a whopping 30% discount, much better than senior pricing. In addition, I can load the purchase receipt into the IHOP rewards program. At IHOP, the coffee decanter is on the table for refills. Overall, a great morning treat, great taste, great service, great price and a great IHOP experience.

My wife and I met another couple for early 4 pm dinner, and we always sit in the bar area at Olive Garden with about 10 tables to separate us from the much larger main dining rooms for better service. We needed to wait about 15 minutes before a table was available, and we ordered and requested that each couple have separate checks, to avoid doing the math ourselves. My wife and I had the endless soup and salad with extra tomatoes and extra black olives (without extra charge) and beverage, including a glass of wine. All went well, the excellent food included graded cheese by the server and I ordered a refill for both the salad and my soup. My favorite of the four soup selections at Olive Garden is Chicken Gnocchi (creamy with roasted chicken, Italian dumplings and spinach) and my wife ordered her favorite soup, Minestrone (a vegan classic and gluten free of spicy Italian sausage, fresh kale and russet potatoes in a creamy broth). Both soups were delicious, and on reorders, another soup selection can be made, but I repeated with Chicken Gnocchi. The meal is served with bread sticks. The table was a bit small for the many plates of four people, and the two servers for the busy bar area could have been more attentive. Overall, a fine and filling meal with friends and enjoyable experience.

My wife and I ordered two dine-in lunch entrees about an hour after the restaurant opened at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. The three dining rooms were just beginning to fill up, and the service was quick, including beverages and two types of complimentary warm bread and butter. The entrees quickly arrived and they both were excellent in appearance, temperature and flavor. I ordered the Sailor's Platter with popcorn shrimp, garlic shrimp and flounder, and my wife ordered grilled shrimps on a skewer. The amount of food was very plentiful, and each came with an included side; for me that was a loaded baked potato, and my wife had creamy Cole slaw. We were too full for desert, and we didn't need to have another meal for dinner. The server was prompt and attentive and had the rewards points added to my account, moving me closer to the free reward offered by Red Lobster. This was a 5 Star experience located in a nice neighborhood in the Central Western section in Las Vegas with easy access from highway and local roads.
