Had an extremely hectic day so stopped in Kostas for a quick lunch. Order the gyros sandwich for $9.99. My order was prepared quickly and was delicious. The pita tasted freshly made and their gyros are tender with just enough crisp on some edges. the flavor is just the way I like it. As always the staff was friendly and inviting. Kostas is a definite recommendation for anyone looking for a tasty, affordable option.

Been ordering pizza from Nino's for 20 years. So you can probably guess, I strongly recommend Nino's. We ordered a 16", thin crust, half with sausage, and half with spinach, garlic, mushrooms, and onions. We also ordered a salad. Nino's is primarily a takeout/delivery place, although you can eat at a very small counter or outside. We picked our order up about 20 minutes after ordering. The salad was crispy and fresh. Everything on the pizza was good... the sauce, ample cheese (but not too much), the toppings, and the crispy crust. We're eating the leftovers tonight and we'll be back soon.

Hadn't been to Benihana for awhile. So, my wife and I decided to go to their relatively new hour hour. I'm glad we did. We over-ordered because everything looked and tasted so good. We got the onion soup, edamame, pork gyoza dumplings, shrimp crunchy rolls, California rolls, and chicken fried rice. Everything was made well and tasted delicious. And since it was happy hour, the bill was only $45. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. I'd definitely recommend the Benihana's in Wheeling, IL.

Portillo's is a great place to get a quick bite to eat when one is out and about. I ordered a hamburger and diet coke. No fries this time. The order came even quicker than usual and was warm and tasty. The lettuce on the burger was fresh and the they gave me a healthy serving of the condiments. The burger itself had the char they are known for. I always recommend Portillo's to friends who visiting the area.

Hadn't been to Cherry Pit in quite some time. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter instead of the dining area. Ordered Tico's Tacos (breakfast tacos with chorizo, egg, and potatoes) and coffee. Once the order was place, the food came quickly, hot, and delicious. The coffee blend was a perfect compliment to the breakfast tacos. In addition to very good food, the people at Cherry pit are always friendly which makes it easy to recommend. Note: Parking is around back.

Love this place!. Longtime breakfast and lunch place in Wheeling. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Ordered two eggs scrambled, hash browns a bit crispy, pancakes, and coffee. Arrived warm and delicious so fast I barely had time to open my phone and read a couple emails. The eggs were cooked just dry enough (the way I like them), the hash browns were cooked to perfection. The pancakes were just the right size an yummy. The syrup and coffee were outstanding. They had plenty of servers and staff to keep things rolling smoothly despite the pretty big crowd. Everyone on staff was helpful and treated us like neighbors. For $14 The Original Granny's is no-brainer recommendation.

I tried a new restaurant today called La Mera Mera Taqueria. I ordered Chicken Enchilada with red sauce. My wife ordered the Mero Burrito. We ordered flan for dessert. The chips and salsa were delicious. My wife was very pleased because the salsa was quite mild and tasty. When our dinners arrived, they were wonderfully plated. A big surprise for such a small place in a strip mall. But the better surprise was the wonderful food. The chicken in my enchiladas was moist and flavorful. While the salsa with the chips was mild, the red sauce on the enchiladas packed a bit of heat. Just the way I like it. We will be going back soon, and we recommended it to my wife's aunt before we even got home. While the place is small, it is very clean and cozy inside. The staff was super friendly.

I've been craving some good Gyros for awhile, so went to Kostas Gyros. Naturally, I ordered the gyro sandwich... this time for takeout. The sandwich really hit the spot. The meat was delicious. The pita was fresh. The onion was flavorful. And the tzatziki was perfect. The sandwich usually comes with tomato but I have to be careful with nightshades. At $9.99 the sandwich is usually enough for two meals; not this time though. It was too good. They prepare meals quickly at Kostas, so it's a great place to go if you don't have a lot of time for lunch or want takeout like I did this time. Usually I stay and eat in the restaurant because the people and restaurant are warm and inviting, I wholeheartedly recommend Kostas.

Stopped in Ochoas's Mexican Grill for dinner and ordered the chicken enchiladas. The chicken was moist. The red sauce was a tad hot; just the way I like it. The rice and beans were an important part of the meal, not just an afterthought like at so many restaurants. Overall the food was great. The best part of Ochoa's is the people. They are always friendly and welcoming. Paired with great food at an affordable price ($14.50 for the enchiladas), I regularly recommend Ochoa's to friends.

I visited Plenty of Huevos and ordered my go to breakfast of 'huevos con chorizo' (eggs and chorizo). My two sides were hashbrowns crispy and pancakes. As always, the huevos and chorizo were cooked perfectly. The chorizo is not too spicy but delivers just a touch of heat to make the meal pop. Unlike a lot of restaurants, they serve real maple syrup with their pancakes. The staff was friendly and efficient. My server never made me wait, checking back regularly, even though the restaurant was quite crowded. Plenty of Huevos offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere, sound level, and decor are very comfortable. For only $16.50, 'Huevos Con Chorizo' at Plenty of Huevos should be on everyone's breakfast list. I regularly recommend Plenty of Huevos to friends.
